Not much to report....

Well, we thought we were home free on the Homestudy... until we received the news a few weeks ago that we needed to have FBI fingerprints done, before the social worker would release it.... If only we had known this in January.... Ugggghhhh...
So needless to say, we are back in a holding pattern as far as our new addition goes.
Some of you already know that we have an older waiting child in mind... She is a lovely girl that we met in Addis, and every second that we have to wait, there is a chance that another family will snatch her up.
I guess that if its meant to be, it will happen, but its frustrating just the same.

Leyton had his first outdoor soccer match with his German team last weekend... Here are a few pics of my Deutsche fussballer.... Leyton is #3, with white long sleeves...

This week, I finally broke down and made myself a new sling for Ava.... After just over a year of use... and I used it every single day! It was starting to get worn where I adjust it.... so it was time for a new one.... Ava kept trying to wear mine, and was tripping over it... so I decided to whip one up for her.... She loves it! Its really cute to see her walking around carrying her baby...

In other news, just a few more weeks till we are back in the States, for some R & R... And for those of you wondering whats up with Jon... he is enjoying a little R & R of his own... He was selected for 4 days in Sunny Qatar... We talked with him yesterday, and he seems to be enjoying a little downtime. With just over 100 days left in his tour... we are looking forward to having him home for good!

A few pics from today...

Not much going on here lately.... Thank Goodness! Its nice to have a few downtime days! I took the kids to the Chuck E Cheese of Germany over the weekend, where tokens were purchased, and games were played... and crappy prizes were won... A great time was had by all!

The weather has been exceptionally sunny and kinda' warm the past few days, so we have been outside feeding the ducks, and riding bikes. I'm looking forward to warmer weather....

... and Oh, by the way... we will be headed to the States in May for 3 weeks. I purchased the tickets, so we are locked in! We will be in Ohio for the first 2 and PA for the last. Looking forward to seeing some of you, and enjoying a little R & R of my own!

Enjoy a few pics.

An update on our paperwork progress...

Its official, after 3 months, our Homestudy has found its way to our agency in Washington, and we are hoping for a quick approval so that we can send in our dossier paperwork. Jon and I have been discussing the possibility of adding a currently waiting child (or two!) to our family, but we will see how it all pans out, when the paperwork is approved.

At the moment, our dossier is collecting dust on the breakfast bar....

Sad News....

We found out last week, that we will be leaving after Jon returns from the deployment. It will likely be sometime around November or December, and we aren't sure yet where we will be going. Hopefully we will know something in the next few months....
We are very disappointed, as we would have loved to stay in Germany for a few more years... but I guess we have been very lucky to have been this long in one place ( 9 years for me... 10 for Jon!).
So, that means there are only a few months left to accept visitors... And we would love to have some before we leave... So, let us know if you need a place to stay in Germany!
